Review

Let's introduce a larger display to improve work efficiency! We have introduced a 4K display from ASUS, which has been talked about in various places.
ASUS PB287Q " is a 28-inch wide LCD display supporting 3840 x 2160 pixels.

Let's open the package.
It arrived in ASUS package cardboard.
The package is huge for a 28-inch monitor. It is so large that it is difficult for one person to hold it.

The accessories...

  • DisplayPort cable
  • HDMI cable
  • Audio cable
  • Power cable
  • Quick start guide

The following is a list of the cables that are included with the product.
Cables such as DisplayPort are included, and can be installed immediately after opening the package.
This time, I purchased a mini DisplayPort~DisplayPort cable separately instead of the included cable in order to connect it to my Macbook Pro for use.

The monitor arm and stand can pivot, so it can be used in a standing position. It also supports a 60-degree left/right tilt, so even though it is a large monitor, you can freely customize it to suit your personal use on your desk.
The ASUS logo is engraved on the upper back of the monitor.

The triple display of two 28-inch 4K displays and a Macbook Pro 15-inch Retina display model looks impressive.
However, although the screen size is 28 inches, the bezel width is narrow, so it does not feel so oppressive when actually placed on the desk.
I actually launched a browser on it, and it seems to provide a very large workspace, and the ridiculous resolution will not cause any inconvenience to your work.

Impressions & Review

I am using it on a Macbook Pro Retina model, and the OS must be OS 10.9 Mavericks or higher to set the fine resolution settings.
I also had to purchase a DisplayPort to mini DisplayPort cable separately. The cable must also be purchased to support 4K output.

About the work

Coding and other tasks have become more convenient, but graphical tasks such as Photoshop are a bit more difficult. Colors and other elements change considerably depending on the angle from which you look at them, so when I check them I move them to the Macbook Pro Retina display (a bit of a hassle...)

Bugs and concerns

The position of the window sometimes changes drastically when it is wakened from the sleep screen. If it is only a slight shift, it is fine, but it moves from one end of the screen to the other, which is casually inconvenient.
Also, I do not know if this is due to the 4K display, but when I change the font in Adobe IllustratorCS5.1, the application is forced to close.
My colleague who uses another 4K display is experiencing the same phenomenon. This is a great annoyance, but I don't use Adobe Illustrator very often, so it doesn't seem to be a particular problem for me.
