Hands-On Report on the Switch Game “Sanrio Party Land”! Trying Out Character Creation and Mini-Games in the “Sanrio Games” Area at “Sanrio Fest 2026 in Minato Mirai”

" Sanrio Fest 2026 in Minato Mirai," held on Saturday, June 27, and Sunday, June 28, 2026
In the area dedicated to the newly launched “Sanrio Games” (hereinafter referred to as Sanrio Games), I got to try out the party game “Sanrio Party Land” for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2!

Trying out "Sanrio Party Land"! Cooperative mini-games with original avatars

" Sanrio Games," Sanrio’s first official game brand, launched in 2026.
The first title to be released as part of this historic launch is "Sanrio Party Land, " a party game designed for everyone to enjoy together.

A hands-on demo of this game was held at “Sanrio Fest 2026 in Minato Mirai,” which took place in the Minato Mirai area of Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture!
Here’s our report on our experience trying out the character creation feature and three mini-games.

Create your character in the world of Sanrio! Choose the characters you want to spend time with and set off for Party Land

As soon as the demo began, character creation kicked off!
You can create cute characters that capture the essence of the Sanrio world, tailored to your own preferences.

Choose from a variety of elements to customize your own original character.

This time, I put together an outfit in yellow and light blue to create a soft, fluffy look!

Plus, in addition to character creation, you can also choose a partner to spend time with!
Popular characters like Pompompurin, Cinnamon, and Hello Kitty are available.
I chose My Melody.

Once you’ve chosen your character, it’s off to Party Land!
My Melody welcomed me and gave me a collectible sticker as a gift.

You can walk around Party Land freely, and it’s so cute to have My Melody follow right behind you.
During the trial play, I was only able to access “Game Park,” where you can enjoy mini-games.
I immediately took on the mini-games at “Game Park”!

This time, I was able to play three mini-games, but I’ve heard the full version will include over 45 different ones.
All of them are cooperative, so it looks like you’ll be able to have a lively, fun time playing with family and friends.

Jump and bounce to collect candy! “Pom Pom Purin’s Puyoyon Trampoline”

The first mini-game is “ Pom Pom Purin’s Puyoyon Trampoline.”
It’s a jumping action game where you try to collect as many konpeito candies as possible.

When the game starts, colorful candy pops out of Pom Pom Purin!
Jump on the Purin, which acts like a trampoline, to collect the magical candy.
The sparkling sound effect when you collect them is incredibly satisfying.

If you land on top of another character, you’ll jump even higher!
We were able to get the candy that was high up by working together with other players.
We all divided up the tasks and kept collecting candy until the game ended!

Finally, the total number of kompeito collected by everyone was tallied.
The final count was 261! We cleared the level at the GOLD rank.

Take aim and catch the stars! “Little Twin Stars: Sparkling Star Fishing Challenge”

The next mini-game is “ Little Twin Stars: Sparkling Star Fishing Challenge.”
It’s a game featuring Kiki & Lala where you cast your fishing rod at just the right moment to catch stars.

When the game starts, lots of stars appear between the fluffy clouds!
Cast your fishing rod at just the right moment to reel in the stars spinning around Little Twin Stars.

Getting the timing right was harder than I expected...!
Often, by the time I cast my fishing rod, the star had already passed by.

In the latter half of the game, the number of stars increases, and it feels great to catch lots of them with a single move.
Also, when a giant star gets caught on your fishing rod, tap the button repeatedly!
Catching big stars earned me lots of points.

The game was over in the blink of an eye!
Working together, we managed to collect 365 stars. PLATINUM rank!

Hit the ball back in time with the rhythm! “Cinnamoroll’s Home Run Derby”

The final game is “ Cinnamon Roll’s Home Run Derby ”
Swing your bat to hit the balls Cinnamon throws back at just the right moment.

Here, change your playable character to My Melody.
In the mini-game, you can choose whether to play as your own character or a Sanrio character!

When the game starts, Cinnamon throws the ball!
Swing your bat just as the ball reaches your character.

I managed to hit it back solidly!
The ball flew off into the distance, becoming a home run and turning into fireworks in the night sky.

Sometimes, balls fly toward all four players at the same time!
Everyone hits them back in perfect unison.

As the game progresses, the pace picks up even more.
Balls come flying out one after another from Cinnamon’s big ears.
Even though the speed had us flustered, we kept our eyes on the balls and hit a solid home run!

After playing three games, the demo came to an end.
Each mini-game featured a charming character design that really drew me in.
Since you can team up with other players to clear the levels, it’s perfect for playing with friends and family.
