Sega's Official National Music Game Tournament, "KING of Performance The 8th," Is Set to Take Place! Registration for the Online Qualifiers Is Now Open

Entries are now being accepted for the online qualifiers of " KING of Performai The 8th," the official national tournament for the popular arcade music games " maimai deluxe," " CHUNITHM," and " Ongeki "!
The “Online Qualifiers” will begin simultaneously for both the domestic and international versions on Thursday, October 29, 2026.

Entries are now being accepted for the online qualifiers of Sega’s official national music game tournament, “KING of Performai The 8th”!

The entry period for the domestic version of "KING of Performai The 8th" online qualifiers runs from 12:00 PM on Friday, October 9, 2026, to 11:59 PM on Sunday, November 22, 2026.
This tournament features three titles: “maimai de Rax,” “CHUNITHM,” and “Ongeki.” To enter, register via the official website of your chosen title, then complete your entry by playing the designated challenge songs or courses at participating locations.
Additionally, participants in the online qualifiers will receive exclusive participation bonuses specific to each title.

maimai Deluxe

After registering via maimai Deluxe NET, your entry is complete once you play the following challenge songs.

• ATLAS RUSH / kanone
• 135 Measures of Ice Destruction / Kanon Okuni
• Magical Fantasia / igel

Additionally, if you play the required songs "ATLAS RUSH" and "135 Bars of Ice Destruction" during the online qualifying round, you’ll receive early access to the song "Magical Fantasia" as a participation bonus.

CHUNITHM

After registering via CHUNITHM-NET, your entry will be complete once you play at least one of the designated courses: “KING of Performai The 8th Qualifier 1: MASTER ” or “ KING of Performai The 8th Qualifier 2: MASTER.”

KING of Performai The 8th Qualifying Round 2: MASTER

• Dying for the Dawn’s Mandate / Koke
• Stardust:RAY / kanone vs. BlackY
• MegiddØ / BlackY vs. Kanon Okuni

Additionally, the following participation rewards can be earned during the online qualifying period.

• Clear either the "KING of Performai The 8th Qualifier 1: EXPERT" or "KING of Performai The 8th Qualifier 1: MASTER" reward track to gain early access to the song "Kyomei"
• Play the track “Kyomei” 4 times to unlock the character “Ailly, Koga, Strezia.”

Please note that rankings will be determined based on the combined scores from the challenge courses “KING of Performai The 8th Qualifier 1: MASTER” and “KING of Performai The 8th Qualifier 2: MASTER.”

Ongeki

After registering via Ongeki-NET, your entry is complete once you play the four designated challenge songs in succession.
In Ongeki’s online preliminaries, scores are tallied based on the “Technical Challenge” scores for the four designated challenge songs.

Additionally, anyone who completes the event chapter challenges during the online qualifier period will receive the title " I Participated! KING of Performai The 8th " as a participation bonus.

LCQ (Last Chance Qualifier)

• Date: Wednesday, December 9, 2026

Final Tournament

• Date: Sunday, February 14, 2027
• Venue: Tokyo International Forum, Hall B7

This year’s National Finals will be held with a live audience at the “Tokyo International Forum, Hall B7,” which is larger than last year’s venue.
Details regarding the live audience event and ticket information will be announced at a later date.
