"V3 Esports" will participate from Japan!
"Worlds 2020" will be held over a month from Friday, September 25, 2020 to Saturday, October 31, 2020 (Japan time), and 22 teams from 11 leagues will participate, competing in 3 stages (play-in stage, group stage, and knockout stage). The "Worlds 2020" is a large-scale tournament in which 22 teams from 11 leagues will compete in three stages: the play-in stage, group stage, and knockout stage to determine the world's best.
In the play-in stage, 10 teams, including V3 Esports from Japan's LJL, will be divided into two groups for round-robin matches, etc. The top two teams from each group, a total of four teams, will advance to the next group stage.
At Worlds 2018, DetonatioN FocusMe became the first team from Japan's LJL to advance past the play-in stage.
At last year's Worlds 2019, DetonatioN FocusMe also achieved their first victory in the group stage against a Major Region opponent, and the Japanese teams have been steadily gaining strength.
Expectations are high for "V3 Esports", which has beaten "DetonatioN FocusMe", which had been considered the top team in Japan, to participate in the World Tournament.
