Nintendo has revealed the titles and features available in Virtual Boy Nintendo Classics, a new service for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. This service will be available starting Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
Titles for Virtual Boy Nintendo Classics Revealed!
The Virtual Boy is a video game console released by Nintendo in 1995 that featured a gaming experience with 3D graphics and depth. In Virtual Boy Nintendo Classics, you can play titles that utilize 3D graphics using dedicated hardware sold separately.
Titles Available at Launch
Galactic Pinball
An action game released in 1995. Set in the endlessly expanding galaxy, players hit the puck with flippers to keep it from falling while aiming for a high score.
3-D Tetris
An action puzzle game released in North America in 1996 (originally unreleased in Japan). Players drop various-shaped blocks into a 3D field consisting of five layers of 5x5 grids to fill the spaces.
Teleroboxer
A sports game released in 1995. In the futuristic fighting sport Teleroboxing, where robots move in sync with human movements, the player aims to become the champion as a Teleroboxer.
Virtual Boy Wario Land
An action game released in 1995. After finding a pile of treasure, Wario is suddenly dropped deep underground; the game depicts his adventure as he continuously advances toward the surface.
The Mansion of Innsmouth
A 3D horror adventure game released in 1995. A detective who visits a mansion upon request becomes trapped and must search for the key while exploring within the time limit.
GOLF
A sports game released in 1995. Players decide how to hit their shots based on the distance to the pin, wind, terrain, and lie, challenging 18 holes rendered in 3D.
Red Alarm
A shooter released in 1995. To destroy "Chaos," an automated combat system that rebelled against humanity, players sortie in a high-performance fighter to engage in battles in 3D space.
Previously Unreleased Titles Scheduled for Distribution in 2026
ZERO RACERS
A racing game where you pilot hovering machines. You compete for rank by speeding through courses constructed of linked square ducts.
D-Hopper
An action game where you move across floating floors using jumps and wing-flaps. You aim to clear the stages while defeating enemies that block your path.

Features of Virtual Boy Nintendo Classics
Rewind Feature
While playing, it is possible to rewind time slightly. Even if you get a game over or make a mistake, you can return to a point before the failure and try again.
View and Change Controls
You can check the actions assigned to each button on the controller. Assigning your preferred actions to your favorite buttons is also possible, allowing for customization tailored to your playstyle.
Screen Color Change
Nintendo Topics
A feature to change the screen color to something other than red is scheduled to be added within 2026. Details of the feature will be introduced at the time of the update.
Two Types of Dedicated Hardware Now Accepting Pre-orders
Virtual Boy Nintendo Classics can be played on the Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch, but dedicated hardware sold separately is required. Two models are on sale: the Virtual Boy for Nintendo Switch 2/Nintendo Switch, which faithfully reproduces the original hardware, and the Virtual Boy (Cardboard Model) for Nintendo Switch 2/Nintendo Switch, an affordable paper model. Each is available for pre-order on the My Nintendo Store.
Get a Poster as a Limited Quantity Bonus!
When you purchase the Virtual Boy for Nintendo Switch 2/Nintendo Switch, you will receive a poster reproducing the original Virtual Boy package design as a limited quantity bonus. It is the same size as the original package (height 315mm, width 375mm), and the back side features the Virtual Boy logo.
