SEGA Corporation has released the annual schedule of official SEGA tournaments for the action puzzle game " Puyo Puyo " series, which is a Japan eSports Pro License certified title, for the year 2024. The "PuyoPuyo Grand Prix 2025 1st" will be held on August 4 (Sun.), 2024.
SEGA's Official "Puyo Puyo" Tournament Schedule for 2024
PR TIMESThe "Puyo Puyo " series has been loved for more than 30 years since its release. In March 2018, the series became an official title of JeSU (Japan eSports Union) and professional players were born. The e-sports scene has also been booming, and numerous competitions are currently being held.
The annual schedule of official SEGA tournaments for 2024 has been released, including two " Puyo Puyo Grand Prix 2025 " prize competitions, in which only professional players can participate, and one " Puyo Puyo Grand Prix 2025 Final " mixed tournament for professional and general players. There will be a total of three prize competitions
- August 4, 2024 (Sun): Sega's official professional tournament "Puyo Puyo Grand Prix 2025 1st" (for professional players only)
- November 2024: SEGA Official Pro Tournament "Puyo Puyo Grand Prix 2025 2nd" (Pro Players Only)
- March 2025: Sega's official tournament "Puyo Puyo Grand Prix 2025 Final" (Professional and General Players only)
About the Puyo Puyo Ranking Pro Selection Tournament
In SEGA's official "Puyo Puyo Ranking Pro Selection Tournament 2025," the league qualifying round will be held in February 2025 for the 16th place finishers who have qualified for the tournament, and the final match will be held in March 2025 for the four winners of the qualifying round. The final will be held on the same day as the official SEGA tournament "Puyo Puyo Grand Prix 2025 Final" in March.
About the "National Prefectural eSports Championships
- Mid-July to September 2024: "National eSports Championship 2024 SAGA Puyopuyo Section Block Representative Round Preliminary Rounds".
- October - November 2024: "National eSports Championship 2024 SAGA Puyopuyo Section Block Final".
