On September 12th, Capcom held their Capcom eSports Business Strategy Presentation at TGS 2019, introducing more details about the Intel World Open Esports Tournament, which they announced on September 11th.

CEO of Capcom, Tsujimoto Haruhiro makes his way onto the stage to greet the audience and proceeded to pump the audience up by speaking with much enthusiasm about eSports.
Now to the main presentation.
President of Intel Japan Suzuki Kunimasa makes his appearance!
Ono Yoshinori, producer of Street Fighter makes his way onto the stage to give us more details about the Intel World Open.
Team Battles on a Global Scale
With preliminary matches set to be held across the world from February to May of 2020, the Intel World Open will hold its final match in Tokyo in July of the same year at Zepp Divercity in Odaiba, Tokyo.
The matches will be 3 on 3, (one team will have 4 members; one being a reserve member) and has a prize to the tune of USD 250,000!
12 selected countries around the world will have national qualifiers to select the four best players from each country, and players not in these countries will be able to participate via regional qualifiers, leading up to the finals in Japan.
How the Competition Works
There was also an explanation about how one will be able to compete in the Intel World Open in Tokyo 2020.
Japan will hold their prelims online, with the best teams making their way to the finals match for the players that will represent Japan at the Intel World Open in 2020.
Of these teams, the ones with the top scores will be the ones to represent Japan at the Intel World Cup.
The 12 countries and eight regions will compete in online matches to decide the strongest teams of the competition, and these teams will compete in Poland to decide the top seven teams that will take their seats at the Intel World Open in Tokyo 2020.
All teams including the Japanese team (total of eight teams) will then battle it out in Tokyo for the final match at the Intel World Open in Tokyo 2020.
Capcom Around The World
There was also a schedule of all the events and where they will take place. Half of the events will take place in the US, so we can expect to see some great talent.
Details about the preliminaries in Japan will be announced on a later date.
