Kazuya Takahashi, FF16 Character Designer: When I think of Final Fantasy, pure white is the starting point for me. Inevitably, the only color for a special model was white. On top of the white, "Efreet, the summoner of fire," "Phoenix, the resurrection and protection," and "Bahamut, the symbol of power," are superimposed and integrated. The inspiration for this design comes from the three fighting together in the final battle, and the image of Bahamut flying away with the two of them on his back. The red wishing star in the story, the lunar satellite Metia, was placed next to the tourbillon as if it were the moon and watching over it.

Kazuya Takahashi, FF16 Character Designer: As soon as I began to conceptualize the Vanguard, I realized that its elongated shape was very suitable for drawing art. I knew I could design the art in a very free and bold way. I could think of no other layout that would show off the symbols and the huge, bold horns that would be used to spew out flames of power. Behind the Efreet is Clive's organizational symbol, which represents the "multiple swords thrust into the crystal. The lower part is arranged as Invictus, the main character's sword, to represent Clive's surroundings as a single shape.

This is a traditional pattern from the Duchy of Rosalia, Joshua's homeland, and we designed and placed it in a new way. The belt is also red, the symbolic color of the royal family of the Duchy and Joshua, and the overall design is based on the image of the "Guardian Phoenix of Rosalia".

Kazuya Takahashi, FF16 Character Design: The symbol in the background is that of the Knights of the Holy Dragon led by Dion, which represents Bahamut with his wings raised in the air. I laid it out so that it overlaps with the profile of the summoner to reiterate the overall image of a "dragon with its wings spread wide". Above its head is a flying dragon plant, the flower that Dion held on his chest during the film. The main color is a combination of Bahamut's green and the golden color of his powerful transformation. I adjusted the color to reflect Dion's image color "white".
