New Characters: The Scholar and The Undertaker Appear
Two new nightfaring warriors appear as playable characters.
The Scholar is a learner who journeys in search of the Lands Between.
Excelling in mysticism, they possess immeasurable power by commanding the battlefield.
The Undertaker is a nun who appeared in accordance with her master's command to slay the Nightlord, and she easily brings death to enemies with her excellent strength and faith.
New Threats
Two unknown threats appear in Limveld and stand in the player's way.
Shifting Earth: The Great Hollow
The Shifting Earth: The Great Hollow, a huge hole deep beneath Limveld, is covered in crystals that emit a cursed, life-draining miasma, with sacred towers, strange ruins left by ancient peoples, and temples scattered throughout.
Steps to Activate the DLC
To play this DLC, you must manually activate it on each platform after Thursday, December 4, 2025.
PlayStation 4 / PlayStaion 5
Select "ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN The Forsaken Hollows PS4 & PS5" on the PlayStation Store and download it.
Xbox Series X|S / Xbox One
From the top of the home screen, select My Games & Apps, and press the menu button for the "ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN" main game.
From the displayed menu, select "Manage Games & Add-ons," and then select the tile showing the main game's icon.
In the add-on list, check the box for the DLC "The Forsaken Hollows," select "Save changes," and install it.
Steam
Go to Library from the Steam client, right-click on the "ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN" main game, and select Properties.
From the displayed menu, select "DLC," check the box for "The Forsaken Hollows," and restart the client.
If the DLC is activated, "The Forsaken Hollows" will be displayed above the game version notation shown in the bottom right of the title screen.
How to Start the DLC "The Forsaken Hollows"
To unlock the new nightfaring warriors, the Scholar and the Undertaker, and the new bosses added in this DLC, you must defeat the boss "Tricephalos."
How to Unlock the Scholar and the Undertaker
Once you defeat the "Tricephalos," the Iron Menial at the Roundtable Hold will give you a message from the Small Jar Merchant.
You can unlock them by listening to the Iron Menial's story and heading to the Small Jar Merchant.
How to Unlock New Bosses
After defeating the boss "Tricephalos" two or more times and unlocking the Scholar and the Undertaker, head to the Chapel, a room that opens behind the Small Jar Merchant at the Roundtable Hold, and you will be able to sortie against the new boss "Balancers."
Note that the new landmarks, strategic bases, and raid events added in the DLC will only appear when sortieing against targets added in the DLC.
Additionally, in a post-release update, the new landmarks, strategic bases, and raid events will appear when sortieing against bosses from the main game, but only during the Deep of Night.
