Square Enix announced the distribution of a free demo for Dragon Quest VII Reimagined, which will be released on Thursday, February 2, 2026.
Save data from the free demo can be carried over to the retail version.
Dragon Quest VII Reimagined Opening Movie Released!
Prior to the distribution of the free demo, the opening movie for this title was released.
In the video, the diverse stages of adventure that spread beyond the stone fragments, which are a major key to the story, are depicted.
You can enjoy the great adventure of the young boys unique to Dragon Quest VII Reimagined through the footage.
In the Demo, You Can Play Until Clearing Ballymolloy
In the free demo, you can play the story from the beginning of the adventure until clearing the first world, the Ballymolloy arc, for free.
Additionally, save data created in this demo can be carried over to the retail version.
Demo Reward Day Off Dress
If you have save data from the free demo, you can obtain Maribel's appearance equipment Day Off Dress as a reword.
This equipment can be received from the menu within the retail version of the game.
Please note that demo save data created with the same account is required to receive the reword.
The distribution start date and time for the free demo is from 12:00 AM on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 (JST).
The Steam version of the demo will start distribution from 2:00 AM on Thursday, January 8, 2026.

Collaboration with Suntory Confirmed
It was also announced that the collaboration between Suntory and Dragon Quest VII Reimagined will begin in mid-February 2026.
Limited quantities of original Monster Bottles for this title, featuring 10 variations in total, will appear on five types of popular drinks such as C.C. Lemon and Dekavita C God Charge.
They will be released nationwide in limited quantities.
A campaign where you can get original goods is also scheduled to be held, so stay tuned for further news.
