On September 9, 2020, Porsche Japan announced the "Porsche Esports Racing Japan SEASON 2," a virtual one-make race using Gran Turismo SPORT.

Porsche Esports Racing Japan is a one-make racing series (E-sports game) organized by Porsche, following Porsche Carrera Cup Japan and Porsche Sprint Challenge Japan.
This year's event, the second of its kind, will be held not only online but also in an offline qualifying session for those who do not have the software to participate.
The top nine finishers in the five rounds of online qualifying, plus one finalist with the best lap time in the offline qualifying, will be the ten finalists who will receive a ticket to participate in the finals.
The winner of Season 2 will be awarded 1 million yen in prize money.
Five rounds of online qualifiers to the finals
A total of five online qualifying rounds will be held.
The top 9 players with the highest total points earned in the best three of the five online qualifying rounds will advance to the finals.
To participate in the online qualifiers, simply select " Sports Mode " in the Gran Turismo SPORT game and enter the event labeled " Porsche Esports Racing Japan ".
There are no restrictions on manufacturer contracts.
Entries will be accepted 15 minutes before the deadline.
The minimum age to participate in the event is 18 years old.

Offline Qualifying
The Offline Qualifying will be held in Tokyo, and only the competitor with the best lap time will advance to the final stage.
The date, time, location, and method of participation for the offline qualifiers have not yet been determined and will be announced as soon as they are finalized.
Those who wish to participate in the offline qualifiers should check the official Porsche Esports Racing Japan website frequently!
The final round will be held for the selected 10 players.
The 10 finalists who have won the online and offline qualifiers will compete in the finals.
The winner of the final, which will be held with steering controllers, will be crowned Porsche Esports Racing Japan Season 2 Champion with a prize of 1,000,000 yen.
The final will be held offline in mid-December, but the specific date, time, and location have yet to be determined and will be announced as soon as they are determined.
Gran Turismo fans and Porsche fans are encouraged to participate in the competition and compete their skills.
