Sega's Official "Puyo Puyo" Tournament Schedule for 2024 Released! "Puyo Puyo Grand Prix 2025 1st" Will Be Held on Sunday, August 4!

Sega Corporation has released the annual schedule for its official 2024 tournaments for the competitive action puzzle game series "Puyo Puyo," which is a Japan eSports Pro-License certified title.
The company also announced that the "Puyo Puyo Grand Prix 2025 1st" will be held on Sunday, August 4, 2024.

The "Puyo Puyo" series is a falling-block action puzzle game that has been loved for over 30 years since its release.
In March 2018, it became an official JeSU (Japan eSports Union) certified title, and professional players were born.
The excitement is also growing in the eSports scene, and currently, numerous competitive tournaments are held.

The annual schedule for the 2024 Sega official tournaments has been released. Prize money tournaments are planned, including two rounds of the "Puyo Puyo Grand Prix 2025," which only professional players can enter, and one round of the "Puyo Puyo Grand Prix 2025 Final," a tournament with mixed professional and general participation.
Furthermore, the "Puyo Puyo Ranking Pro Selection Tournament 2025," where new professional players will be born, has also been confirmed. We can expect Puyo Puyo to be exciting as an eSports competition again this year!

• March 2025: Sega Official Tournament "Puyo Puyo Grand Prix 2025 Final" (Mixed Pro and General)

About the Puyo Puyo Ranking Pro Selection Tournament

In the Sega Official "Puyo Puyo Ranking Pro Selection Tournament 2025," a league preliminary round will be held in February 2025 among the top 16 players who have qualified for entry. The final match among the four players who win the preliminary round is scheduled for March.
The final is scheduled to be held on the same day as the Sega Official Tournament "Puyo Puyo Grand Prix 2025 Final" in March.

About the "National Prefectural eSports Championship"

• Mid-July to September 2024: "National Prefectural eSports Championship 2024 SAGA Puyo Puyo Division Block Representative Deciding Tournament Qualifiers"
• October to November 2024: "National Prefectural eSports Championship 2024 SAGA Puyo Puyo Division Block Representative Deciding Tournament Finals"
