Sonic's DNA Becomes Reality! The Sonic the Hedgehog DNA Figure to Make Its World Debut at Shibuya PARCO on June 23!

SEGA CORPORATION has announced that the SONIC THE HEDGEHOG DNA FIGURE, a figure containing the DNA (genetic code) of Sonic the Hedgehog, will be displayed at SEGA STORE TOKYO inside Shibuya PARCO starting Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
This is one of the projects celebrating the 35th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog.

SEGA CORPORATION is organizing various developments and initiatives for Sonic fans worldwide as part of the Sonic the Hedgehog 35th anniversary project.
As part of this effort, the SONIC THE HEDGEHOG DNA FIGURE was created to express the traits of Sonic—who has been loved worldwide for 35 years—in the new form of DNA.
It will make its world debut for a limited time at SEGA STORE TOKYO on the 6th floor of Shibuya PARCO starting Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

To carry Sonic's personality, built up over 35 years, into the future, this project redefines it as the blueprint of life (DNA).
By fusing cutting-edge art and technology, his DNA has been materialized, expressing the fact that the core of Sonic's existence will never fade away.

A DNA Figure is a new type of figure that expresses the very existence of a character or IP by designing and synthesizing DNA based on its defining traits and enclosing that DNA inside the figure.
It differs from conventional figures in that it expresses the individuality of existence as DNA, capturing questions like "what traits do they have, and what makes them uniquely that character?"

Utilizing this DNA Figure technology, the SONIC THE HEDGEHOG DNA FIGURE expresses the "essence" of Sonic, who has been beloved for 35 years, in the form of DNA.

The traits reflected in the SONIC THE HEDGEHOG DNA FIGURE include the following:

• Blue body
• Boost ability (super acceleration)
• Free and cool personality
• Loves adventure, can't sit still
• Can curl into a ball and spin
• Inability to swim

The video uses a direction that combines live-action and CG to depict the process leading to the creation of the SONIC THE HEDGEHOG DNA FIGURE and the DNA designed and synthesized based on Sonic's traits.

It feels as if Sonic's history, evolving from pixel art to full CG, has been packed right into his DNA, making it a must-watch for Sonic fans.
