The "Amaho no Sakunahime" collaboration sake series is produced by Nakagawa Shuzo, a long-established sake brewery in Tottori Prefecture, where the Amahonomikoto Shrine, dedicated to Amahonomikoto, the god of rice, is located, and where many myths have been set. The sake is made from " strong rice," a sake rice produced only in Tottori Prefecture, which ceased to be produced in 1954. In 1989, from a "handful" of seed rice, the amount of " revived rice " was finally increased to the point where sake could be made after two years of cultivation.
