On Thursday, August 20, 2026, MAGES. Co., Ltd. will release the speculative science adventure " STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT " for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Steam.

The protagonist, Rintaro Okabe, is a college student who heads the “Future Gadget Laboratory,” a small, eccentric invention club in Akihabara.
Their latest creation just happened to have the ability to send emails to the past.

All voice and sound effects are newly recorded

All in-game voice acting has been re-recorded.
In addition, the background music has been completely remade by composer Tsuyoshi Abo ( @valsound ).

Refined Graphics

All character art, backgrounds, and event stills have been redrawn from scratch, resulting in a major update!
Compared to the Xbox 360 version, the number of event stills has roughly doubled, and background graphics have increased by about 1.2 times!
Thanks to this vast array of visuals, you can enjoy an even more immersive experience.

Dynamic character expressions powered by E-mote

We’ve introduced “E-mote, ” a next-generation animation tool, for character motion.
Even subtle changes in facial expressions and natural breathing are faithfully reproduced.

Rintaro Okabe / Voiced by Mamoru Miyano ( @miyanomamoru_PR )

Rintaro Okabe, the protagonist of this game.
He is a teenager with a "chūnibyō" complex who calls himself the mad scientist "Kyoma Hououin" and acts like a villain.
He founded a club in Akihabara called the “Future Gadget Laboratory” and is currently inventing gadgets with unknown purposes.

Okabe’s childhood friend; she’s a laid-back, airheaded character who’s always smiling.
Her hobby is making cosplay costumes, and she often likes to dress others up in them.
Influenced by her childhood memories of gazing at the night sky while being carried on her grandmother’s back, she has a habit of reaching out toward the sky, which Okabe has dubbed the “Stardust Handshake.”
