Four cards in hand at the start of battle

The starting hand at the beginning of a battle is 4 cards, dealt at random from the deck! You can redraw any card only once (a.k.a. mulligan).
If you can draw several cards that give you an advantage in the early stages of the game, one of your tactics is to keep the trump cards you need for the mid to late stages.
New names added

- Intimidate: not attacked by opponent's followers
- Aura: Not chosen by opponent's ability
- Barrier: Reduces damage taken to 0. After that, it loses the barrier.
New names have been added to card abilities such as Intimidate and Aura. The effects themselves are the same as in the original "Shadowverse", but the names are added to simplify the flavor text!
You can also tap (or click) on the name in the game to see the details of the ability.
Extra PP that can be used only on the second attack.

In "ShadowverseWB," the new "Extra PP" system bridges the gap between the first and second attackers.
The "extra PP" is especially important in the first five turns, otherwise it will be an irreversible waste. It may be a strong move to play a 2-cost follower on turn 1 to be safe.

Of course, you can play with 11 PP if you use Extra PP in the second half.
Evolution and super-evolution are both limited to 2 times.

Regardless of whether you attack first or second, the EP required for evolution and the SEP required for super-evolution are 2 each. Evolution can be used after the 4th turn of the second attack, and super evolution can be used after the 6th turn of the second attack.
In "ShadowverseWB", Evolving gives +2 Attack/Strength respectively. The increase is fixed! Of course, followers with the ability when evolving will also activate the effect.

If you use ESP to Super Evolve, your Attack/Value will be increased by 3 each. In addition, followers with the ability at the time of super-evolution activate a powerful effect! Even if you do not have the ability at the time of super-evolution, it will be activated well if you have the ability at the time of evolution.
In addition, apart from the follower's ability at the time of super-evolution, there is another common system...
- Have rush, take no damage during your turn, and are not destroyed by the ability.
- When you defeat an opponent's follower, the card will blow up and deal an additional 1 damage to the leader.
It is a bonus. It is very strong to be able to deal with followers with special kills during your turn regardless. The 1 damage by the card with the blowout makes the game more interesting, but also makes the score calculation more difficult...!

Olivier, the Fallen Angel of Valor" has the ability to super-evolve a follower in its field when it is super-evolved. However, the Evolve/Super Evolve ability only activates when EP/SEP is consumed, so there is no chain of events where Olivier's Super Evolve causes another follower to Super Evolve. As expected!
Even so, many of the super-evolved abilities are powerful, so you want to use ESP on followers that have the ability if possible.
The new class "Nightmare" is now available!

In ShadowverseWB...
- Elf
- Royal
- Witch
- Dragon
- Nightmare
- Bishop
- Nemesis
- Neutral
Eight classes are available. Players can build a deck by combining cards from any one class with cards from the Neutral class.
The new Nightmare class combines the characteristics of the Necromancer and Vampire classes from the original Shadowverse. In fact, the Nightmare class was originally introduced in the real card game "Shadowverse EVOLVE" and has been imported back into the game.

Necromance," which refers to the number of cards in the graveyard, and "Reanimate," which revives followers destroyed in the same battle, are still present. There is also an Amulet whose effect is triggered by "Act," which can be used once per turn.
The game is a lot of board processing, and it is a very exhilarating game to play, even though it requires a lot of brainpower!

We were able to experience only three classes in this preliminary play session: Dragon, Nightmare, and Nemesis. I believe that several times as many cards will be implemented at release alone, but at this point, I got the impression that there were intense board fights from the beginning of the game.
The neutral card "Firdoar, the Palace of Euphoria," which can be built into any deck, has the ability to destroy a follower in the opponent's field when it evolves. It is a very good 2/2 follower with 2 cost.

Dragon Slayer" is a 4-cost 2/2 with modest base stats, but it has the ability to destroy a follower in the opponent's field with a fanfare. This effect is also effective against super-evolved followers, so it will definitely be active until the final game.

The neutral spell "Divine Thunderbolt" costs only 4 and destroys the highest attacking follower on the opponent's field, and also deals 1 damage to all followers on the opponent's field. Be careful of Thunderbolt if you have evolved or super-evolved followers with high attack power!
These cards with high board removal performance create fierce battles for the board from the beginning of the game, which I welcome. It is easy for even beginners to feel like they are playing a card game! I think that even beginners can easily feel the sense of "I'm playing a card game!
ShadowverseWB", which I recommend to beginners, is now accepting pre-registrations!

ShadowverseWB" is scheduled for official release on June 17, 2025 (Tuesday), and is currently accepting pre-registrations from the official "ShadowverseWB" website. The game will be released on the App Store, Google Play, Steam, and Epic Games Store, so pre-register on your favorite platform and wait for the service to begin!
Fujii 4dan, who had never played "Shadowverse" before, got the hang of the game by the end of the session and played with a serious eye. At first, the attractive character designs and beautiful graphics may have been a kick to get into the game, but before you know it, you'll be hooked on the depth of "Shadowverse".
This is the perfect time to get started, especially with all the new titles launching simultaneously! For more information on the game, check out the official "ShadowverseWB" website and official X (@shadowverse_jp)!
