"ZETA DIVISION"’s Pokémon Unite division, which finished as runner-up at last year’s world championship, "WCS2025."
Aiming for even greater heights, the team underwent a major roster overhaul in 2026 and competed in the tournament with the following seven players!

The newly formed "ZETA DIVISION" struggled to establish team chemistry during the domestic tournament, the "Pokémon Japan Championships 2026," but still advanced to the "WCS 2026" by finishing in 5th place in Japan.

Group Stage (DAY 1): Advanced undefeated from the "Group of Death" filled with powerhouse teams
The first day of the world championship featured the Group Stage, where teams from around the world gathered.
"ZETA DIVISION" was placed in the grueling Group E, which included powerhouse teams such as South Korea’s "T1" and "7VEN."
In their opening match against T1, they lost the first game but staged a 2-1 comeback victory thanks to exceptional teamfight control.
In the subsequent match against 7VEN, they fended off the opponent’s fierce offensive with flawless teamwork, securing a 2-0 sweep.
Having advanced through this highly competitive group with a perfect 2-0 record (finishing first in the group), "ZETA DIVISION" has advanced to the playoffs!
Knockout Stage (DAY 2): Defeating Domestic Rivals! Advancing to the Finals
In the knockout stage, “ZETA DIVISION” faced off once again against other Japanese teams —the same ones that had given them a tough time at the “Pokémon Japan Championships 2026.”
In the first round, they edged out " FENNEL," the reigning domestic tournament champion, 2-1, and went on to defeat the North American representative "Evil Geniuses" 2-1 in the quarterfinals.
Then, in the semifinal match against " IGZIST," they fell behind 0-2 and were on the brink of elimination, but they showed incredible tenacity and, playing as a united team, won three games in a row.
They achieved a dramatic comeback victory (3-2) and secured their spot in the Grand Final!
Grand Final (Day 3): Defeating the European champions to claim their long-awaited first championship!
Their opponent in the final was the undisputed powerhouse representing Europe, “KOMAÏ (KomaiEsports).”
“ZETA DIVISION” showcased overwhelming teamwork from the start, taking Games 1 and 2 in a row to quickly put themselves within reach of the world title.
Although they lost Game 3 due to the opponent’s fierce offensive, in the decisive Game 4, they perfectly fended off the opponent’s onslaught, with Mizutama dominating by “knocking out” opponents one after another in a late-game team fight.
With a 3-1 game score, they secured a decisive victory and brilliantly claimed the title of world champions!
Having finished 5th at “WCS 2024” and as runner-up at “WCS 2025,” “ZETA DIVISION” had faced a string of disappointments up until now.
Overcoming those struggles and their history, they achieved their long-cherished dream of a world championship— the first since the Pokémon Unite division was established!
