Season 6 of the popular battle royale game " Apex Legends ", developed by Respawn Entertainment and released by Electronic Arts on February 5, 2019, will begin on August 18, 2020 at 2:00 pm.
Here are some of the map updates from this new season!
EA's WORLD'S EDGE goals for Season 6
Apex Legends Design Director Jason McCord on the WORLD'S EDGE that EA is aiming for in Season 6.
- Provide more playing experience in the lava areas on the map (including improvements!)
- Increased route choices to get out of the most extreme and challenging areas
- High-profile new map system to provide players with unprecedented combat scenarios
The goal is to bring "novelty" to the game with the start of the new season.
Let's see what changes have been made and what elements have actually been added to the map!
Firing Fields
A new launch site has appeared in the western area of The Dome, a previously empty lava field.
In the central portion of this area, a huge rocket ship, visible even from the distant refinery, rises and sits on the launch site below.
At this new drop point, there are four huge control rooms and an abundance of items and supplies.
I can easily imagine many troops choosing this as their drop point and an intense firefight ensuing!
This is an area where the Coastal Stick, which can dominate the area with gas, and the Pathfinder, which can move in all directions on a zip line, will be in great demand.
A new route has been constructed along the cliffs to the east of The Tree, and a new route is available for selection in the area on the launch site side.
This route will extend to the sorting plant and connect with the entrance to the launch site facility, providing a view to the south of the plant.
The launch site is located next to The Dome, and the road leading to The Tree also extends to The Dome, so there appears to be an additional route around the outside of The Dome.
For those taking the route down the hill toward the sorting plant, it's going to be a good point to know that you can take advantage of the new geyser and avoid the ring shrinkage!
Blast Wall
Blast walls are a new element added to the new map and can be seen at launch sites, countdowns, and relay points.
When the panel is activated, as the name implies, a huge wall rises up and creates a defensive scaffold.
The first team to get this control will likely win the shootout!
But don't let your guard down! Blast walls can be ducked under or around using the surrounding routes.
If you have a pathfinder who can draw a zip line that your allies can also use, or an octane who can place a jump pad, you will probably be able to get around it quickly.
It would be an individual skill, but a rover who can warp would also be able to get around.
Seems worth a try!
Countdown.
The area that used to be a drilling site has been transformed in Season 6 into a huge facility called Countdown.
The area has an intimidating atmosphere, and it is not too much to say that it is a fortress.
The centerpiece of this huge facility is a deep pit in the center of the building.
By opening this pit, you can secure more items, but it is in full view of the surrounding area, so it is recommended that you check the situation before entering.
I have a feeling that Bangalore, where you can shoot smoke with your skills, will be useful in this area.
The facility is equipped with three huge blast walls, and activating a blast wall will create a huge wall of footholds that will give you a good ground advantage against enemies coming from skyhooks, lava trenches, and train depots.
It would be a good idea to activate the blast walls in advance as the area shrinks to ambush enemies who are being chased by the ring.
Relay points
The relay point, although small in size, is a connection point located in the center of the map, where players are constantly coming and going.
This new drop-off point also offers significantly more items.
The two walls that rise up to allow the train to pass through the tracks have been made possible, and stopping the train will increase the amount of shielding along the tracks, creating an easier situation to enter the battle in the central zone over the control room.
Survey Camp and Skyhook Route
Heading east from the research camp, you will discover a new route through the cliffs and tracks to Skyhook.
The entrance here will be the best route out of Skyhook.
The former train tunnel has also been updated with some of the best items and clutter in the area.
There are now a variety of choices when playing in the vicinity.
We have a feeling that this will be an area where caustics will be more active than ever.
Various tweaks and additions
In addition to the above changes, there are some tweaked elements in the map.
Train Stops
Low and behold, the train that was running in Season 5 has been dismantled!
In Season 6, the dismantled trains are scattered around the tracks laid at World's Edge.
Cars and other shields have appeared in most of the tunnels built for the trains.
A small amount of items can be found here.
Geysers
In addition to the new geyser north of The Dome, another geyser has appeared south of the lava channels.
This will make it easier to cross the river of lava.
This is a big help, especially when you are being chased by the ring.
Season 6 begins August 18 at 2:00 p.m.!
Apex Legends Season 6 will be released on August 18, 2020 at 14:00 JST.
How was Season 5 for everyone? I was finally able to move up to Platinum 4 in ranked matches.
I can't wait for the ranked matches in Season 6 as well. I hope to be flexible and adaptable to the new elements that have been added, and someday I hope to be good enough to be on par with the top players.
