God of War Laufey, the latest installment in the God of War series, was announced during the "State of Play" broadcast on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.
The protagonist of the film is the warrior Laufey, wife of Kratos in the Norse mythology version. In the over 20-minute trailer, Laufey can be seen exploring and actively fighting in the "Land of the Everlasting", the afterlife of the gods.
Through his journey, Laufey seeks to unlock the secrets hidden in the land of everlasting life and reveal its true nature. What awaits her in the afterlife of the gods?
New action elements added! Legendary Warrior Combat
While retaining the best of the series' previous combat systems, new action has been added. The uninterrupted, smooth movements that maximize Laufey's lethality, power, and fluidity have been recreated.
As a weapon, the legendary sword is the perfect match for the legendary warrior. It launches attack after attack, both on the ground and in the air, and uses its momentum to unleash a relentless onslaught against its enemies.
Furthermore, as the golden hand of Jotun, the strongest guardian of the giant race, Rahway also possesses fearsome powers, including the ability to interfere with the soul. He can strike his enemies with his golden palm, rip their souls from their bodies and directly attack the souls themselves, or smash them into other enemies.
A new group of friends to share the adventure with!
As in God of War Ragnarok, Laufey will be played by Deborah Ann Woll (@DeborahAnnWoll ), who will also be playing the role of the "God of War Ragnarok".
Two more new companions will be introduced. Jack Quaid (@JackQuaid92 ) plays Frank, a curious and sincere "square. He is willing to do whatever it takes to protect his friends and the creatures that live in the land of everlasting life.
Perlina Lau (@perlinalau ) plays Lou, a magical "belt" attached to a sword. The sword is powerful, and Rue acts as a guardian to keep it out of the wrong hands.
