KADOKAWA Corporation announced that it has agreed to acquire shares in Doga Kobo Inc., an animation production studio, and make it a subsidiary.
Background and Purpose of the Acquisition

The KADOKAWA Group stated that as a strategy for its anime business, which is central to its media mix, it aims to construct a system for continuously creating appealing anime works by expanding its production lines and strengthening its production capabilities, thereby maximizing IP value with anime as the core.
In its medium-term management plan until the fiscal year ending March 2028, the company's basic strategy is to promote "Global Media Mix with Technology," which is centered on the stable creation of IP from a diverse portfolio and its widespread global deployment.

Doga Kobo is a studio founded in 1973. Its careful animation, which expresses the world view of the work and features attractive character depiction, has received high acclaim from anime fans worldwide.
It has a wealth of animation production experience and has produced a variety of anime, including "Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun," "NEW GAME!," and "Oshi No Ko," through a relationship with KADOKAWA spanning about 10 years.
These works have become a major topic not only in Japan but also overseas.
The KADOKAWA Group stated that by welcoming Doga Kobo and strengthening cooperation with its subsidiaries ENGI Co.Ltd., Studio KADAN Co. Ltd., RagingBull Inc., BELLNOX FILMS Co. Ltd., and affiliated company Kinema Citrus Co., Ltd, it will further strengthen its structure for creating anime works that can succeed globally.
