Minecraft is played by a wide range of people, from adults to children.
The major update, Tricky Trials, which was announced at "Minecraft Live 2023" in October 2023, is now available as of Friday, June 14, 2024.
Major Update "Tricky Trials"
This update was announced in the Minecraft Live 2023 video released in October 2023. It introduces new structures, Mobs, and decorative items, allowing players to enjoy adventuring with a wider variety of playstyles.
New Structure "Trial Chamber"
Minecraft Official WebsiteThe Trial Chamber is a newly added structure made of copper, containing new enemy Mobs and new blocks. Although the structure is filled with traps and trials, you can receive treasure upon clearing them, so give it a try!
New Enemies in the Trial Chamber
While exploring the oxidized passages of the Trial Chamber, you may find Trial Spawners that summon a large number of enemies.
You might even encounter two new enemies, the Breeze and the Bogged, among them.
Breeze
Minecraft Official WebsiteThe Breeze is an enemy Mob characterized by its prominent eyebrows. Despite its appearance, it can knock back players with powerful long-range attacks.
This agile Mob flies rapidly around the player and nullifies arrow attacks.
Therefore, defeating the Breeze requires quick footwork and precise swordsmanship!
Bogged
Minecraft Official WebsiteThe Bogged has a skeletal appearance, wears tattered clothing, and is covered in moss and mushrooms.
This enemy possesses a Poison attribute and can inflict the Poison status when it attacks, so bringing milk is a reliable strategy for conquering the Trial Chamber.
Furthermore, its habitat is not limited to the Trial Chamber—it also includes swamps, so accidentally encountering one there could prove troublesome.
Obtain Rewards
Minecraft Official WebsiteWhen you clear the trials within the Trial Chamber, you can obtain a Trial Key and use it on the new block, the Treasure Vault, to claim rewards.
Unlike previous chests, which become empty after one person claims the contents, the Treasure Vault allows all players who are playing together to receive a reward.
However, the key drop is not guaranteed even if you clear the trial, so you'll have to rely on luck!
Aiming for Better Rewards
Minecraft Official WebsiteIf the current difficulty feels unsatisfactory after attempting trials for a while, you can further increase the challenge to receive higher-rarity rewards.
The method is to challenge the trials while under the effect of Bad Omen effect.
To obtain the Bad Omen effect, you need an Ominous Bottle, which can be acquired as a drop from a raid captain or from a Treasure Vault.
When you challenge a trial while affected by the Bad Omen effect, it becomes an Ominous Trial, where the spawned enemies become stronger and start firing harmful potions and arrows.
Clear this formidable trial to obtain the Ominous Trial Key (exclusive to Ominous Trials) and open the Ominous Vault for even rarer rewards!
New Weapon "Mace"
Minecraft Official WebsiteThe new weapon, the Mace, is set to be very powerful.
This brand-new type of weapon knocks back enemies by attacking while falling. The longer the fall distance, the stronger the Mace's attack power becomes, which sounds like great fun.
However, crafting this weapon requires a Breeze Rod (dropped by the Breeze) and a Heavy Core, which can only be obtained from an Ominous Vault.
The crafting difficulty is great, but since you can obtain a powerful and fun weapon once you make it, work together with your friends to craft one!
Furthermore, three Mace-exclusive enchantments are available, so once you craft it, wreak havoc with the strongest Mace!
New Item "Wind Charge"
Minecraft Official WebsiteThe Wind Charge drops when you defeat the Breeze.
Using this item creates a powerful gust of wind, which not only deals damage on contact but can also blow away nearby enemies.
Its utility is not limited to enemies; you can also use the Wind Charge's knockback effect to enhance your own jumping ability.
This allows for more three-dimensional movement in Minecraft, which opens up new possibilities!
Finally, the Crafter Is Added
Minecraft Official WebsiteIn Minecraft, you build various facilities and go on adventures, but there are times when you might think, "I want to do other work, but I also have to craft items using the materials piled up in my chest..."
In such situations, by selecting a recipe and adding ingredients to the new Crafter, and then outputting a Redstone signal, the item is automatically crafted and dispensed.
This allows for simultaneous work and greater efficiency!
New Decorative Blocks
Minecraft Official WebsiteWith this update, the variety of copper blocks and tuff-related blocks has greatly increased.
We are excited that copper, which previously had few uses, can now be utilized more fully, expanding the scope of building!
