April 2024 has arrived, and there are only three months left of the Famicom (NES) 40th Anniversary, which started in July 2023.
It has been announced that the next broadcast of Famicom Talk Shop Kobayashi Toys will be the last, and the recruitment for Famicom Heroic Tales introduced in the program also ended on Sunday, March 31, 2024.
While it is truly sad to see the end approaching, the latest episode of Famicom Talk Shop Kobayashi Toys released recently featured the ally of the shop manager Kendo Kobayashi, Hollywood Zakoshisyoh, as a guest in a supremely chaotic episode. It blows that sadness away, so if you haven't watched it yet, or even if you have, please check it out many times!
And of course, a weekly treat that is also featured in the program is the Famicom National Poll!
Previously, it was held with the theme "What Comes to Mind When You Think of a Tag Team?" thought up by Kendo Kobayashi, but this time the theme was thought up by the staff member Imadachi of Eleki Comic!
Vol. 37 "What Is a Hidden Masterpiece?" results have been announced!
A Top 20 of Super Close Contests! Vol. 37 Results Announced!

The results for Famicom National Poll Vol. 37 "What Is a Hidden Masterpiece?" have been announced, and the top 20 are now public on the Famicom 40th Anniversary Campaign Site!
Fitting for the theme hidden masterpiece, to be honest, I have only played a few titles among the top 20, and there are many results where I heard the name for the first time this time.
Among them, the one that won 1st place was Minelvaton Saga: Ragon no Fukkatsu, but its vote percentage was a whopping 2.5%! Isn't this the lowest vote percentage for a 1st place winner so far?
It is an RPG released by Taito in 1987, and it is a title that enabled saving via battery backup ahead of Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation. It is one of the titles whose name I learned for the first time this time.
This time, the vote percentages of the top 20 are crowded together with differences of 0.something percent, and the votes are quite scattered.
Also, the fact that more than half of the package images on the Famicom 40th Anniversary Campaign Site are NO IMAGE might be the reason why they are hidden masterpieces.
The 5th place winner, Joy Mech Fight, is being distributed on Family Computer Nintendo Switch Online, so please check it out!
By the way, SD Gundam Gaiden: Knight Gundam Monogatari 2 - Hikari no Kishi, which I voted for, was 169th with a 0.2% vote percentage! I guess it’s a masterpiece that isn't hidden!

The 3rd in the Character Count Series! "What Is a 4-Character Title?" Voting Starts!

The end of Vol. 37 means that Vol. 38 has begun.
Voting for Famicom National Poll Vol. 38 has started as of Thursday, April 4, 2024! The theme this time is "What Is a 4-Character Title?"
Following Vol. 18's "What Is a 5-Character Title?" and Vol. 33's "What Is a 3-Character Title?", this is the 3rd in the character count series!
Even with 4 characters, just like before, there are various interpretations such as Hiragana/Katakana, Kanji, Alphabet, and reading, so it seems like this time will also result in a voting outcome full of uniqueness.
From masterpieces everyone knows to those hidden masterpieces, cast your fair vote for a 4-character title you have feelings for!
This time as well, you can vote from the Famicom National Poll page on the campaign site after logging into your Nintendo Account.
Do not worry, as even if you forget the title, candidates will appear if you enter part of the title.
The voting period for Famicom National Poll Vol. 38 is until Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at 11:59 PM, and the results announcement is scheduled for Thursday, April 11, 2024!
I voted for the masterpiece side-scrolling shooter Seicross!
