Sega Co., Ltd. has revealed details of the newly added " Skill Battle " mode and some of the characters in " Puyopuyo Tetris 2," which will be released on December 10, 2020 (Thursday).
In "Skill Battle," players can use the skills of three characters to turn the tables on their opponents and strengthen their teams with item cards.
Organize a team of characters with skills
The newly added "Skill Battle" mode allows players to battle " Puyopuyo " or " Tetris " using the skills possessed by each character.
The fun of Skill Battle is to form a team of three characters, each with their own unique skills, and fight while making the most of their skills.
In addition, the game system itself has been changed in Skill Battle.
HP " and " MP " have been introduced.
Until now, in Puyopuyo, you lost when you reached the red "X" at the top of the field, and in Tetris, you lost when you reached the top of the pile.
In Skill Battle, however, as long as you have HP remaining, the field is cleared and you can continue the puzzle.
The winner is determined by either player's HP falling to zero.
In the past, when you erase Puyo Puyo or erase lines with Tetris, "Ojama Puyo " and " Ojama Blocks " fly into the opponent's field, but in Skill Battle, when they fall into the opponent's field, they inflict damage to the opponent's HP. In skill battles, when they fall on the opponent's field, they can damage the opponent's HP.
MP is needed for characters to use their skills.
Character Development
As a character progresses through skill battles, he or she gains levels, strengthens stats, and learns skills.
The five status categories are " HP," " MP," " Strike," " Defense," and " Recovery.
There are two types of skills: auto skills and special skills.
Auto-skills are automatically activated at the start of a battle and increase the parameters set for each character. (e.g., attack rate increased by 00%).
Special Skills are skills that can be activated at will during a battle, and using them at the right time is the key to victory.
The number of special skills that can be selected increases as the character level increases, and up to three can be learned.
Item Cards
In addition to character-specific skills, a team can equip up to four item cards to fight in skill battles.
Item cards are randomly dropped by winning skill battles, and equipping them will enhance their status.
There are five types of item cards corresponding to the character's status: "HP," "MP," "Strike," "Defense," and "Recovery. The parameters corresponding to each type are increased by equipping it.
In addition to the parameter increases corresponding to the type, there are also item cards with " special effects.
Special effects include parameter increases other than type, "Puyo Puyo 2 Chain Attack Power Up" and "Tetris 2 Line Erase Attack Power Up".
Item cards as well as characters have levels, and the upper limit of parameters granted and the type and number of special effects are increased according to the level.
Unlike character levels, however, item card levels are determined at the time of acquisition and do not increase after acquisition.
Fight many skill battles to obtain better item cards and strengthen your team.
