Q. What were your goals and inspirations for Tejo?

A.One of the interesting challenges we wanted to address was to find a way to actively break angles and create opportunities, like breaches and kay/os, without using utilities that affect a wide range of angles, like flashbangs. This was a major collaborative effort with several designers, and I personally found the initiator feature very appealing, not as a new effect or a mechanism that would revolutionize the flow of the game, but rather as a unique use of the activation mechanism normally used by the controller. When the rocket was implemented, I found it exciting to see test players using it as if it were a fast version of the Fade "plowr". Perhaps it was a combination of my own desire to be a good controller, while always being the initiator when playing with friends, that led to my passion for trying out the map-targeting rocket (insert evil laugh here).

Q. How would you describe Tejo's play style?

Tejo is for the player who wants to be more strategic in his shot calling on the map, but also wants to get out on the front lines and get his hands dirty at times. With the pressure that "guided salvos" create early on, Tejo can create situations where the defender is less likely to be successful in his offensive gambles. Unlike flashbangs, fades, or even Sauva's "reconvolt," which have a broad impact, Tejo's utilities affect a small area of the map. Q. How do you think "Tejo" will change the current meta?

Finally, the unique elements of the stealth drone will make Tejo strong enough to compete with KAY/O in the area of suppression effects in situations where defensive agents are waiting to attack a site at once.
