On Wednesday, May 14, 2025, I-O Data Device, Inc. announced the third model in the GigaCrysta 10th Anniversary series, "LCD-GDQ271JLAQ"!
We had the opportunity to experience the product ahead of time, and here is our report!
GigaCrysta's First Mini LED Gaming Monitor "LCD-GDQ271JLAQ"

Ta-da!!
On the right is the new gaming monitor, "LCD-GDQ271JLAQ."
It's the first gaming monitor from the GigaCrysta brand to adopt the Mini LED method.

It excels particularly in rendering dark areas, suggesting improved visibility that can contribute to better performance not only in action and RPGs but also when playing highly competitive titles like FPS games.
Additionally, it also employs Quantum Dot technology.
Compared to the conventional LCD method, it offers brighter and richer color expression.
The current model "LCD-LDQ271JAB" from the I-O DATA brand, which also used Mini-LED, ended production on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.
Its successor is the GigaCrysta brand's "LCD-GDQ271JLAQ."

Speaking of GigaCrysta, the remote!
You can control monitor settings such as power on/off, input switching, screen mode, and volume settings directly from the remote.
Gaming monitors usually have buttons on the bottom or back, which can be hard to reach or use, especially with a monitor arm. That's why having a remote is so helpful!
The maximum refresh rate has increased from 180Hz to 200Hz.
The contrast ratio has also increased, and it now supports built-in speakers and a remote control.
And despite this, the price remains the same!

Sneak Peek at the OLED Model Under Development

In addition to the "LCD-GDQ271JLAQ," we also got a sneak peek at the gaming monitor "LCD-GDQ271UEL," which is currently under development and uses an OLED (Organic EL) panel.
The ultra-thin bezel and overwhelming color reproduction are eye-catching.

It's not just the bezel that's thin!
Even the OLED panel and stand are ultra-thin!

The viewing angle is also surprisingly wide.

Height, rotation (pivot), tilt, and swivel adjustments are also possible.

When we talked to the person in charge, they mentioned that the OLED "LCD-GDQ271UEL" would be available before Tokyo Game Show...! Which means, they'll be exhibiting again this year?
Regarding the overall outlook for GigaCrysta, they showed confidence, saying, "We want to popularize gaming monitors among players who used to play games on TVs, taking the Nintendo Switch 2's 120fps support as an opportunity," and "You're sure to understand the difference once you experience it."
I entirely agree that you'll understand once you experience it, so I hope they increase opportunities for people to experience the product directly.
That concludes the report on the I-O Data Device new product experience!
