Golden Week is finally here!
And with Golden Week comes energy drinks!
So during the holidays, saiganak.com editorial staff will be reviewing some of the most unusual energy drinks from around the world!
This time, we review Sting Energy Drink, a long-established energy drink from Vietnam!
Check the package
The " STING " logo with a scorpion in the text is a typical "energy drink" design.
As the name " STING " suggests, expectations are high for a stimulating taste.
The red package on the left is the "Ginseng Berry Blast" flavor, and the gold package on the right is the "Ginseng Gold Rush" flavor.

While sugar-free energy drinks are also on the market, this drink contains twice as much sugar as ordinary energy drinks, and it looks magnificent.
Now, the tasting!
Let's start with the "Berry Blast Flavor.
When you open the can, a faint aroma of strawberries wafts through the air.
The smell alone doesn't make it sound like an energy drink...? I thought it didn't smell like an energy drink at all.
The first impression in the mouth is sweet!
After the intense sweetness, you feel the slight carbonation and strawberry flavor.
There is no sourness in the strawberry flavor, but it is not an unpleasant sweetness.
The only aftertaste is a mild sweetness.
Next is the "Gold Rush Flavor."
When I opened the can, the punchy smell hit me right in the nose.
I thought to myself, "This is what an energy drink is supposed to be! I thought to myself.
As I took a sip, my mouth was filled with a sweetness that I could not have imagined from the smell.
The "Berry Blast Flavor" has a natural sweetness with a strawberry flavor, but the "Gold Rush Flavor" had a "sugar" sweetness with a chemical taste characteristic of energy drinks.
The chemical sweetness blows away fatigue.
Sting Energy Drink" is a very long-established energy drink that has been on the market in Vietnam since 2002.
From the "STING" and scorpion logo on the package, I imagined it would have a more stimulating taste, but in fact, I felt the stimulation of being slowly hit by poison rather than a stabbing sens ation.
However, it is a perfect energy drink that certainly fulfills its role as an energy drink that " blows away fatigue.
This may be the reason why it has been supported for 20 years.
In Japan, it was sold exclusively in vending machines in 2019, but is now discontinued.
It is still sold in stores in Vietnam and other Southeast Asian countries, so look for it!
