Razer™, a gaming device manufacturer based in San Francisco, California, has introduced a new color for its gaming devices, Mercury White. The new color "Mercury White" is available in Japan from August 30, 2019.
We at Fangler Games, a company with a reputation for combining work and gaming, tried out the Razer "BlackWidow Lite Mercury White" gaming keyboard, which is now available not only for games but also for office workers.
A Different Look
First of all, the box is not in Razer's corporate colors of green and black, but in white.
The colors are different from the usual Razer™ colors, which makes it look less like Razer™, but it also gives it a cool look that is different from the usual Razer™.
The product name is BlackWidow, but White is so cool that it rivals the "BlackBerry Passport White Edition".
BlackWidow Lite Mercury White
Like the box, the keyboard is also white in color. When placed on a black gaming desk, the presence of the keyboard increases considerably.
The detachable cable connecting the keyboard to the PC is also white, and the keyswitches used on the "BlackWidow Lite Mercury White" are Razer™ Orange Axis.

However, when the keyboard is viewed from the side, the orange color is visible.
If you are looking for a completely white keyboard, you should pay attention to this part, but it is rare to see the keyboard from the side, so you may not need to worry too much.
An orange rubber ring called an O-ring is included as an accessory.
By attaching the O-ring to the keyswitch, it is possible to reduce the bottoming sound that occurs when the key is pressed all the way to the end. Furthermore, by attaching the O-ring, the distance to the bottom strike can be shortened.
I actually used it for gaming and work.
For gaming, I actually used it with Apex Legend. In terms of gameplay, compared to my usual keyboard, the Razer™ Orange Axis has a shorter actuation point, which may be the reason for the increased response of character movement after key input, and I was able to move above my usual performance.
However, if you are looking for a keyboard for office use, the tenkeyless layout of the "BlackWidow Lite Mercury White" may not be to your liking.
Although the O-ring provides desktop space, the absence of a numeric keypad is inconvenient for those who use the keypad frequently in their work on a daily basis.
However, since a smartphone or a small notepad can be placed in the space of the numeric keypad in an open position, those who have been using a numeric keypad may want to explore its use again.
Incidentally, the majority of Fangler users are tenkeyless users.
