Sony announced on Friday, July 4, 2025, that its new smartphone, the "Xperia 1 VII," is experiencing issues such as failing to power on. In response, product shipments and sales through the Sony Store and carrier channels have been temporarily suspended.

Issues such as powering off during use, restarting, and failing to power on are occurring.

The affected models are all models for the Japanese domestic market. Sony is currently investigating the cause of the issues and will provide information, including solutions, as soon as they are determined. Users who own an "Xperia 1 VII" are asked to back up necessary data.
